1. 100% Local-First & Data Sovereignty

Noternism is built from the ground up to respect your privacy. All your notes, sketches, audio memos, and tasks are stored exclusively as standard Markdown (.md) and local asset files on your personal filesystem or your own Apple iCloud Drive container. We do not operate proprietary synchronization databases or read your files.

2. On-Device Intelligence & Audio Transcription

All semantic search embeddings, text extraction, OCR scanning, and speech-to-text transcriptions are performed entirely on your Apple device using Apple's native APIs (NaturalLanguage, Vision, and SFSpeechRecognizer). No notes or audio recordings are transmitted to external AI servers for model training.

3. Zero-Knowledge Web Sharing

When you choose to share a note to the web, encryption is performed client-side on your device using AES-256-GCM before upload. The decryption key is contained exclusively in the URL hash fragment (#key=...). Because URL fragments are never sent to web servers, the hosting server stores only encrypted ciphertext and has zero ability to read your note.

4. Zero Analytics & Tracking

We do not embed third-party tracking scripts, user profiling cookies, or behavioral telemetry inside the Noternism application or website.
